Welcome to JBL's TRACTOR TREASURES
A large-scale farm inheritance tax demonstration took place in Newcastle upon Tyne on Sunday, November 23, 2025. The protest, organized by the grassroots group Farmers Unite, involved over 100 tractors leaving from Newburn and converging on the city centre to oppose the UK government's proposed changes to inheritance tax laws.

Participants and tractors gathered from across the North , including Northumberland, Cumbria, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and North Yorkshire.
The primary goal was to protest the planned reforms to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR), which are scheduled to take effect from April 2026

Under the government's proposal, inherited farm assets worth more than £1 million would be subject to a 20% inheritance tax, a change that farming organisations have branded a "devastating family farm tax". This may necessitate land being sold off to pay the tax and in many cases this would leave the remaining land uneconomic to farm.
Protesters argue that many farms are "land rich but cash poor" and that the tax could force families to sell off land and assets to cover the substantial tax bills, threatening the survival of multi-generational family farms and the nation's food security.
The event was organized by Farmers Unite and was part of a broader "unity" campaign involving other groups, including the National Farmers' Union (NFU) and various retailers and food supply businesses, who have urged the Prime Minister to halt the changes.
